    Founded in 1989 by twin brothers and Charlotte natives Jack and Frank Blythe, the company performs clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining wall, culvert, bridge, stone base, and asphalt paving work. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. With more than 900 employees, Blythe Development self-performs 80% of its sitework, providing greater project control than competitors that subcontract most of their work.

    The Construction Contracts Administrator supports the Purchasing Manager in ensuring contract compliance for local, state, and privately funded projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, materials, standards, and equipment
    • Ability to draft, review, and issue subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders; redline documents in Adobe Acrobat; and route documents for execution through DocuSign
    • Ability to review owner contracts and flag risks for the Purchasing Manager, including indemnity, pay-if-paid and pay-when-paid provisions, retainage, liquidated damages, insurance, and flow-down requirements
    • Ability to maintain current flow-down requirements in subcontracts, including NCDOT, SCDOT, and federal-aid provisions
    • Knowledge of North Carolina and South Carolina lien laws, including notices, lien agent filings, and payment-related lien waivers
    • Ability to enter and maintain subcontracts and purchase orders in ProjectSight
    • Ability to keep contract files organized, current, and audit-ready
    • Familiarity with NCDOT and SCDOT requirements
    • Proficiency with common office applications, including Adobe Acrobat and DocuSign
    • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • NC Notary preferred
