Job Description

seeking an experienced Construction CPA / Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of our business. This position will play a key role in managing construction accounting, job costing, financial reporting, and supporting company leadership with financial strategy.

Position Summary

The Controller will be responsible for all accounting functions including construction job costing, financial reporting, payroll oversight, billing, cash flow management, and internal financial controls. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction accounting and the ability to work closely with project managers and company leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
  • Manage construction job costing and project financial tracking
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Maintain and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
  • Oversee progress billing including AIA billing and retainage tracking
  • Monitor project profitability and assist management with financial decision making
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements
  • Work closely with project managers to review job costs and budgets
  • Establish and maintain internal financial controls

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing
  • Experience with WIP reporting and progress billing
  • Experience with accounting software such as Viewpoint, Pro Core or similar systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
