  • Makes frequent site visits to monitor progress and resolve any design or mechanical engineering problems.
  • The project Mechanical construction coordinator will work quickly to initiate corrective action and will direct contractors in performing any necessary changes, revisions or modifications.
  • Prepares updated progress reports and summarizes problem areas or concerns.
  • Regularly attends client/contractor meetings and works to resolve any construction issues that arise.
  • Is familiar with state, federal and local safety requirements and enforces a rigid safety program during the construction phase.
  • Works in conjunction with construction manager/project manager in a team effort to complete projects on schedule and within or under projected cost.
  • Works closely with contractors and site personal to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Assists in designing projects mechanical functionalities.
  • Understands construction standards, specifications and is capable of preparing bid packages for contractual bidders.
  • Prepares estimated man-hour distribution and cost estimates in order to determine budget requirements, manpower loading, schedule and site requirements.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated safety focus.
  • Quality and detail oriented.
  • Adaptability to accept changes in job duties.
  • Reliable team player with good communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in construction preferred.
  • Experience reading mechanical and site development blueprints.
  • Should have construction estimating skills.
  • 9) Basic computer skills; MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus
  • HS diploma or equivalent is required; a technical certificate in Steel or Industrial Technology or closely related field is a plus.
