Title
Construction Crew Leader- 2026-27
Posting Description
Construction Crew Leader
For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands-on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.
AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The Construction Crew Leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.
This position will focus on home construction, home repair, neighborhood revitalization, volunteer services, and research, monitoring, and/or evaluation aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.
Where will you serve?
Constructing 10 Homes from the Ground Up: This is a rare opportunity for members to experience the entire lifecycle of residential construction. From breaking ground and framing to the final finishes, members will lead the physical creation of 10 brand-new homes, gaining unparalleled, hands-on building experience.
Neighborhood Revitalization of Non-Habitat Homes: Beyond new builds, members will champion our broader community repair initiatives. They will lead critical exterior repairs, weatherization, and beautification projects on existing, non-Habitat homes in our target neighborhoods, allowing us to preserve affordable housing and uplift entire communities at scale.
Working with New, Excited Habitat Families: Members will work side-by-side on the build site with future Habitat homeowners completing their "sweat equity" hours. This unique initiative allows members to directly mentor, encourage, and partner with families who are actively working toward the dream of homeownership.
Leadership in Homebuilding and Celebration Events: Members won't just work behind the scenes-they will take center stage. They will participate in and lead high-visibility affiliate events, from ceremonial wall-raisings and home dedications to signature fundraising campaigns, developing essential skills in public relations, event execution, and nonprofit leadership.
