Job Description:
In this role, you will lead a crew to complete scheduled and unscheduled construction and maintenance projects on public property, streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way.
Examples of Duties:
- Supervises and leads a construction and maintenance crew.
- Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
- Maintains all equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- May operate motor equipment such as tractors, front-end loaders and dump trucks.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
