We are looking for a Construction Crew Leader to join our team
The work you do on our Streets Maintenance team directly impacts the safety and accessibility of our community every day. From repairing potholes and damaged pavement to maintaining sidewalks, curbs, and public rights-of-way, youll help ensure residents, businesses, and visitors can travel safely throughout the city.
As part of our team, youll work alongside experienced professionals who take pride in serving the community and supporting one another. We offer hands-on training, mentorship, CDL development opportunities, and clear career pathways that allow employees to grow from entry-level positions into Equipment Operator and leadership roles.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a leader to construction/street crews. This is done by planning work methods and procedures after assignments are given. These tasks include work site setup, work zone safety, traffic control, hazard observation, following procedures and guidelines, employee supervision, assisting with work, etc. Other duties include training subordinates, operating light, medium and heavy equipment and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of related heavy equipment experience.
Selected applicants will be required to perform a heavy machinery skills test that will be a factor in the hiring of this position.
Other Requirements
Current drivers license
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within 90 days of employment
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions including hurricanes, snow, and ice storms
Ability to operate heavy equipment and lift heavy objects.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials and equipment.
Exposure to traffic and active work zones
