Position Purpose
Position Overview
Garfield High School is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Technology Education
Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will teach courses in Manual Drafting, Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), and Technological Inventions that focuses on hands-on problem-solving implementing innovated solutions across various areas of technology.
- Responsibilities
- Teach and develop engaging lessons in manual and computer-aided drafting implementing AutoCAD software.
- Guide students through the design process\u2014from concept development and prototyping to presentation and evaluation.
- Foster creativity and problem-solving through hands-on projects, emphasizing realworld applications of engineering and design principles.
- Integrate STEM concepts into coursework, including design, mechanics, materials, and emerging technologies.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom and lab environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align cun-iculum with district and state standards. Encourage student participation in technology and engineering competitions and extracurricular innovation activities.
- Assess and document student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
Qualifications (Must hold one)
- Bachelor's degree in Technology Education, Industrial Arts, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Valid [State] Teaching Certification in Technology Education or Engineering Technology (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience with manual drafting and AutoCAD software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for inspiring students to explore technology, innovation, and design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project-based leaming and student invention and innovated projects Prior expeHence teaching at the high school level.
- Full-time preferred, however Part-time in a specific area will be considered.
