Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Construction Engineer to oversee and manage the planning, design, and construction of transportation infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications while delivering high-quality transportation facilities on time and within budget.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, construction oversight experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and internal project teams.  Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage construction activities for transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, and related facilitiesEnsure compliance with approved plans, specifications, engineering standards, and applicable safety regulationsCoordinate with contractors, inspectors, designers, agencies, and project stakeholders throughout the construction processReview construction schedules, cost estimates, pay applications, and change ordersConduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocolsIdentify and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and field conditions in a timely mannerMaintain accurate project documentation, reports, and recordsSupport project delivery to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality expectations are met Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldExperience in transportation construction engineering, construction management, or inspectionKnowledge of transportation infrastructure standards, construction methods, and materialsFamiliarity with safety regulations and quality control proceduresStrong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with contractors, agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificationExperience working on DOT or municipal transportation projectsFamiliarity with construction documentation, pay estimates, and change managementProficiency with project management or construction documentation software What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and advancementCollaborative team environment with experienced professionalsExposure to impactful transportation infrastructure projects
