Repairs and overhauls a variety of medium and heavy construction equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, rollers, graders, loaders and power shovels as a substantially full-time assignment; and performs other related duties as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Classes in this series differ from classes in the Automotive Mechanic series in that the Construction Equipment Mechanic classes perform or supervise work connected with the repair and overhaul of construction equipment as a substantially full-time assignment; whereas the Automotive Mechanic classes perform or supervise work involving the repair and overhaul of a variety of automotive equipment and which may involve the repair and overhaul of construction equipment.
This class represents the journey-level performance of skilled work in the repair, maintenance and overhaul of a variety of construction equipment as a primary responsibility.Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
