We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, from hospitals and higher education institutions to commercial buildings and government facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation and a deep understanding of the construction industry. The role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects across a variety of sectors, including hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, commercial buildings, and government facilities at both federal and state levels.

2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.

3. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to create accurate estimates.

4. Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on cost estimates.

5. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

6. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.

7. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.

8. Present and explain estimates to clients and stakeholders.

9. Maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices in the construction industry.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on hospital, higher education, school, commercial, and government construction projects.

3. Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools.

4. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

6. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.

7. Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

9. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

10. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
