POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate will work on tasks that are related to project cost estimation, preparing a complete and comprehensive Bid Package for review by the Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager prior to any Project date line. More particularly, but not limited to, the candidate will work on detailed pricing estimate aiming for self-performing works in structure and civil trades among others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to develop detailed pricing estimates for self-performed work, with a primary focus on structural and civil trades, among other scopes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Develop detailed estimates and cost breakdowns, including material, labor, equipment, production rates, and indirect costs associated with construction activities.
• Develop detailed estimates for self-performed structural and civil work, including the evaluation of quantities, labor productivity, crew composition, equipment requirements, materials, and construction means and methods.
• Prepare estimates for structural scopes, including concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, foundations, and other structural work, as applicable.
• Prepare estimates for civil scopes, including earthwork, excavation, grading, sitework, underground utilities, drainage, and other civil work, as applicable.
• Develop RFIs as necessary to clarify drawings, specifications, and bid requirements.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for scope completeness and pricing.
• Collect and organize estimating data for use in bid proposals.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor''s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction estimating experience performing the duties described above.
• Demonstrated experience estimating self-performed structural and civil construction work is required.
• Hands-on experience developing detailed estimates for self-performed work, including quantity takeoffs, labor productivity, crew composition, equipment utilization, material costs, and production rates.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods related to structural and civil trades.
• Proficient in Excel, MS Word, On-Screen Takeoff or similar software, and Bluebeam or similar software.
