Responsibilities:
As a Construction Estimator, your primary duties will include:
1. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects.
2. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
3. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
4. Preparing estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
5. Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
6. Reviewing material and labor requirements, deciding whether it's more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
7. Conducting risk analysis for the project and providing appropriate mitigation strategies.
8. Keeping track of the latest construction technologies and applying them in cost estimation processes.
9. Working closely with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of all estimates.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Construction Estimator position, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
2. Proven experience in Hospital, Higher Education, School, Commercial, Federal, State, Government, Retail, Medical, and Civil construction.
3. A deep understanding of the principles and methods of cost estimation in the construction industry.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Proficiency in using computer software for cost estimation.
8. A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. A strong commitment to ethical business conduct and compliance with all industry regulations.
