Construction Estimator

Job Title: Estimator

Summary: To estimate work and cost of various jobs for potential future business by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Obtains customers via telephone, mail or walk-in to generate opportunities for bidding on jobs.
2. Assures company can perform specified jobs by evaluating job information.
3. Provides estimates for jobs that result in company profits.
4. Prepares job estimates and quotations on computer on a regular basis.
5. Plans job functions including material, labor, and timeline requirements.
6. Submits job estimates to management on a timely basis.
7. Interfaces with Project Managers to perform jobs awarded to company.
8. Maintains and files job records to include open bids, bids lost, bids awarded and jobs completed.
9. Assists in review of completed jobs for future estimates.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
11. Uses the Program Heavy Bid to create estimates for bid packages.
12. Works closely with Customers and Subcontractors in order to obtain the best pricing and budgeting for bid packages.
13. Works with Logistics Manager to reach out to Vendors for optimum pricing and budgeting for bid packages.
14. Prepares all paperwork for bid packages.
15.  Is diligent in reading detailed plans and specifications to prepare project estimates.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior estimating experience required.
