Overview:

At GbOSS, our construction and renovation services expertise ranges from out of ground design-build to renovations and finish work. A vast majority of our work is geared towards vertical type construction projects.  As an SBA 8(a) Certified contractor, we utilize our skillset as general contractors to successfully deliver projects for federal and commercial clients.

Summary:

We are currently seeking Construction Estimators for our growing construction firm to prepare bids ranging from small to medium-sized construction projects ($50k - $25M).  Construction Estimators will be responsible for creating and managing estimates for federal and commercial lines of business. This position will be responsible for developing quality and competitive estimates, managing bids through completion, reviewing scopes and communicate progress with estimating team.

This is an onsite position at one of our three locations, McKeesport, PA, Chambersburg, PA or Herndon, VA. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review plans and specifications for scope and value
  • Attend site visits for targeted projects to bid
  • Examine site/existing conditions at site visits for projects and document observations relative to the project as required
  • Solicit and develop relationships with subcontractors that will assist in completing the work
  • Review bid packages to be sent out to perspective subcontractors
  • Generate quantity take-offs for various portions of work
  • Develop estimates for Job Order Contracts, firm fixed price, and lump sum type bids
  • Estimate, price, and negotiate project pricing, and all work associated with developing the final construction bid
  • Continually expand knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovation
  • Communicate and uphold the Company's commitment to Integrity and the Code of Ethics
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Projects
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible working style
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with other estimators and support staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of construction experience (preferred in estimating position)
  • Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes and various building types
  • Ability to multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Physical capability and willingness to travel regionally for site visits

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity and proficiency with AutoCAD are desired but not required
  • Knowledge of SABER and JOC Coefficient contracts is desired but not required
  • 4clicks / Gordian (RS Means) experience desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field preferred, or equivalent in training and experience

 

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually.
