Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Preferred but not required
1-5 years of with a prime construction contractor estimating, project engineering, or project management experience with a public works contractor (not a municipality, a construction prime contractor, not a sub contractor)
JobBoss, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word proficiency
Experience performing quantity takeoffs for labor, material, and equipment costs
Ability to read and interpret Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing construction plans and specifications
Experience reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations and developing bid estimates
Must have public works construction, prevailing wage requirements, and Project Labor Agreements
Must have Water treatment, wastewater treatment, pump station, pipeline, reservoir, or municipal infrastructure project experience
Responsibilities
Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bid proposals, and project budgets for public works construction projects
Review plans, specifications, contract documents, geotechnical reports, and agency requirements
Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors during estimating and preconstruction activities
Analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontract, and risk costs to support bid strategy and project planning
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, scope reviews, procurement planning, and estimate handoff to operations
