MS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to support our clients in Oak Ridge, TN.
The Construction Estimator supports project planning and pre-construction efforts. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, supporting schedule development, and assisting in the evaluation of contractor bids to ensure best-value project execution.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Assist with development and review of project schedules in coordination with project management.
- Support evaluation of contractor bids and proposals for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project scope.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams during pre-construction planning.
- Maintain cost databases and historical estimating information to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Assist in identifying cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative approaches.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience in construction estimating or project controls preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and cost breakdown structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- DOE Q clearance preferred.
