Construction Estimator

MS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to support our clients in Oak Ridge, TN.

The Construction Estimator supports project planning and pre-construction efforts. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, supporting schedule development, and assisting in the evaluation of contractor bids to ensure best-value project execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Assist with development and review of project schedules in coordination with project management.
• Support evaluation of contractor bids and proposals for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project scope.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams during pre-construction planning.
• Maintain cost databases and historical estimating information to improve forecasting accuracy.
• Assist in identifying cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative approaches.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience in construction estimating or project controls preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and cost breakdown structures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DOE Q clearance preferred.
