Construction Estimator - Projects up to $10M - Waltham, MA

An established, well-run general contractor is seeking a mid-level Estimator to support a steady pipeline of ground-up and tenant improvement projects throughout Greater Boston and the North Shore. This is a role ideal for someone confident enough to step in quickly while continuing to grow within a collaborative preconstruction team.

My client is a full-service construction and general contracting firm with over 70 employees and $80M+ in annual revenue. They are known for repeat clientele, disciplined operations, and a strong internal culture that prioritizes balance and long-term employee retention. Their work spans commercial, life sciences, education, and healthcare markets across New England.

Description

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for multiple project types
• Estimate ground-up commercial projects up to ~$10M
• Support pricing and bidding for smaller TI projects ranging from $500K-$2.5M
• Assist with bid leveling, subcontractor scope review, and proposal preparation
• Work closely with preconstruction and operations teams to ensure accurate handoffs
• Participate in early budgeting and conceptual estimating efforts
• Maintain organized estimate files and documentation using Excel-based tools

Profile

A successful Construction Estimator should have:

• 3+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Ground-up construction estimating experience required
• Exposure to TI and renovation work preferred
• Life Sciences project experience is a strong plus
• Solid working knowledge of Excel (no advanced modeling required)
• Ability to work from a Waltham, MA office with hybrid flexibility

Job Offer

• $115,000-$125,000+ base salary for a strong mid-level Estimator
• $90,000-$100,000 for a junior candidate
