    Construction Estimator – Toledo, OH 
     
    Overview
    Our Estimators are responsible for developing preconstruction estimates for a variety of projects. They work closely with our Clients and internal preconstruction staff to complete conceptual and detailed estimates. It is the responsibility of our Estimators to provide accurate estimates, create value for our Clients and provide realistic estimates while maintaining the quality and detail that our Clients desire. The Douglas Company is a leader in senior care and assisted living construction management projects with projects ranging from senior care and assisted living to skilled nursing and multi-family construction.

    We are currently seeking a Construction Estimator who desires an exciting and challenging environment in Construction Management. Immediate openings are available in our suburban Toledo, Ohio headquarters. Qualified applicants must be able to work at this location. 
     
    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
    • Create and develop labor and material take-offs
    • Seek competitive pricing from subcontractors and materials providers
    • Determine pricing, both internal and rough estimates based on subcontractor input
    • Assemble bids and create rough and firm estimates based on project deliverables
    • Conduct and prepare job site assessments
    • Obtain required permitting and documentation
    • Presentation of estimates to clients
    • Turn over job to construction operations team

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree (Construction Management/Civil Engineering/Construction Engineering Technology preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience estimating in the construction management industry
    • Good understanding of construction materials and processes
    • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, MS Project, and Timberline preferred


    Additional Information 
    Competitive salary, benefits, and financial incentives are offered. Work will include up to 30% travel.
