Construction Field Superintendent

We’re recruiting for a Construction Field Superintendent for a strong, employee-owned commercial construction company in Columbus. This is a great opportunity for someone already working as a superintendent or ready to step into that next level.

This role is focused on commercial projects tied to colleges, universities, or large healthcare systems. The company offers a smaller-team environment, strong culture, work-life balance, and ESOP ownership.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, schedules, materials, and site activity
• Keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and according to plan
• Work closely with project managers, owners, architects, and field teams
• Monitor jobsite quality, safety, progress, and overall project execution
• Help resolve field issues quickly and professionally
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams and project stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

• Commercial construction experience with exposure to universities, colleges, healthcare, or similar institutional projects
• Field leadership experience, or readiness to move into a superintendent role
• Strong understanding of jobsite coordination, schedules, safety, and quality control
• Ability to work well with subcontractors, owners, and internal project teams
• OSHA and construction safety knowledge
• Construction Management, Engineering, or related education preferred, but not required with the right field background
• Local Columbus-area candidates preferred, though relocation interest may be considered

Not a fit for candidates whose background is primarily residential, multifamily, wood-frame builds, frequent short-term project moves, or military-only construction experience without private-sector project exposure.
