DPP is seeking a Construction Field Superintendent for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace industry.
 
Work location: Fully onsite in El Paso, TX
Work schedule: 40 hours/week with possibility of extended hours
Duration: 6 months
Terms: W2 contract
 
Position summary:
  • An experienced Construction Field Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities.
  • The Field Superintendent is responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • This role serves as the primary point of contact between field crews, subcontractors, project management, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all day-to-day field operations and construction activities
  • Supervise subcontractors, trade crews, and field personnel to ensure work aligns with project plans and specifications
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules; identify and resolve delays proactively
  • Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to specifications
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment logistics, and resource allocation
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of site activities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgets, change orders, and scheduling
  • Resolve on-site issues, conflicts, and unforeseen challenges in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality control standards are met through inspections and testing
  • Communicate regularly with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
  • Manage punch lists and oversee project closeout activities
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:  
  • 5+ years of construction supervision experience (commercial, industrial, or relevant sector)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
Education/certifications:
  • Required:
    • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Preferred:
    • First Aid/CPR certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
    • Experience with large-scale or complex projects
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work on active construction sites in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent site visits requiring mobility across uneven terrain.
Work Environment
  • This position is based primarily on active construction sites, with occasional office work. Standard hours may extend based on project demands, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
