Construction Field Superintendent

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Field Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects throughout NW Houston and the Greater Houston area. Our projects typically begin with raw land and progress through site work, foundation, vertical construction, and final completion.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on field leader who understands how to construct a commercial building from the ground up. This role requires strong organizational skills, leadership ability, and the capacity to manage subcontractors, schedules, and jobsite operations while working closely with the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all jobsite activities and subcontractors
• Manage projects from raw land through completed construction
• Implement and maintain the project schedule
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
• Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project management
• Provide daily reports, progress photos, and jobsite updates
• Maintain quality control throughout the project
• Solicit and coordinate trade estimates during construction
• Manage materials, subcontractors, equipment, and manpower
• Ensure all trades onsite are operating safely and efficiently
• Perform quantity takeoffs and general construction planning
• Be present onsite during all active construction activities
• Assist in managing self-performed work and manpower solutions
• Travel to job sites within the NW Houston and Greater Houston area, with occasional out-of-town work

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction from ground-up
• Strong ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
• Experience using lasers, dirt machines, and site layout equipment
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Working knowledge of construction contracts and processes
• Ability to manage multiple trades and jobsite logistics
• Experience coordinating with project managers and clients in the field
• Ability to physically work in the field and assist with hands-on construction when needed

Work Requirements

• Ability to physically work on construction sites
• Willingness to work overtime and some weekends
• Some out-of-town travel may be required
• Must be reliable and punctual, arriving onsite before work begins and remaining until crews complete their work

Typical Crew Schedule:

• Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
