Description
The Civil Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in heavy equipment operation, and the ability to make sound field decisions while coordinating closely with the Project Manager.
Pay is $45-48 an hour
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews on civil construction sites
Operate heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers
Interpret and understand construction blueprints, plans, and specifications
Develop and implement detailed construction plans and work schedules
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet deadlines and budget requirements
Make real-time field decisions and provide recommendations to the Project Manager
Maintain clear communication with crew members, subcontractors, and management
Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to ensure high performance and productivity
Inspect work to ensure quality standards are met
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Foreman in civil construction
Skilled operator of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field
Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices
