Construction General Technician

Position Essential Duties/Responsibilities
• Participates in major renovations to buildings as directed by the Facilities Project Manager.
• Completes renovations at turnover of residential living cottages, apartments and suites.
• Assists the Facilities Project Manager with quality control and coordination of any subcontractors working on the assigned project. Develops and completes punch lists.
• Stays current with the basic code regulations, materials, systems, and other matters related to construction in the retirement services field.
• Is involved with the design, estimations, and purchases needed for the current projects. Able to envision the needed outcome.
• Works well with others and maintains good relationships with all subcontractors and departments.
• Organizes and stores materials related to construction and renovations.
• Helps develop and follows the required schedules for the projects.
• Demonstrates initiative, strong organizational skills, and able to perform duties without close supervision.
• Relates well with residents, clients, family members, staff and the community.
• Assists with snow removal and other emergencies as needed.
• Assists with emergency situations at Landis Homes, especially fire, wind and flood emergencies, as well as disruption of utility service (electric, gas, water and sewer).
• Demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy and is observant.
• Adheres to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures.
• Complies with safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job.
• Demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and abides by its guidelines in all aspects of the job.
• Attends in-services and team meetings as required for role.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED or demonstrated proficiency in reading and writing skills required.
• Maintains current valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Minimum 5 years experience related to maintenance or general construction, preferably with experience in both commercial and residential renovations mainly in the areas of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Knowledgeable in electrical & plumbing repair, drywall repair, tile installation, painting and flooring.
• Adaptable to work in a team environment in support of others while completing individual tasks
• Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrates a pleasant personality with flexibility and adaptability for frequent interruptions.
