Job Full Description

Job Summary

A Construction Hand performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction projects. This role assists skilled tradespeople, maintains job site organization, and helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist carpenters, equipment operators, electricians, and other skilled workers
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
  • Prepare and clean construction sites, including debris removal
  • Dig trenches, pour concrete, and assist with framing or demolition
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely
  • Set up and take down temporary structures (scaffolding, barricades, ladders)
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Perform general maintenance and cleanup activities
  • Follow supervisor instructions and work as part of a team
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not always required)
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to follow directions and safety guidelines
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
Work Environment
  • Outdoor and indoor construction sites
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions
  • May require early mornings, overtime, or weekend work
