Position Description
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Compliance:
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with blasting requirements, building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Inspect mechanical, civil, and structural systems to verify proper installation and functionality.
- Identify and document any deviations from approved plans and specifications and recommend corrective actions.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Perform tests and inspections on materials and equipment to ensure they meet required standards
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders
regarding inspection results and project status
Coordination and Support:
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve construction issues and ensure timely project completion.
- Provide technical support and guidance to contractors and construction personnel.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on construction methods, materials, and schedules.
Preferred Qualification
Skills and Competencies – Mid or Sr. Level qualifications:
- Field experience with blasting.
- Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and software.
Degree Requirement for Position
No, degree is not required
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience Level
Construction Inspectors with 8+ years of relevant experience could be considered.
Must have 5 years of field experience demonstrating ability to perform quality assurance inspections of blasting performed by other contractors. Experience with preparation and/or review of blasting plans is preferred.
Experience in Maryland, Virginia, and or Deleware is preferred.
On-Site Position - West Baltimore, Maryland, South of Baltimore Penn Station
Salary Range: $56,000 to $97,000 YR
