Location:

Brooklyn, NY (Field-Based, NYC Five Boroughs)

Employment Type:

Contract-to-Hire Potential

Compensation:

Up to $40/hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday | Typically 7:00 AM-4:00 PM

Overview

Our client is seeking a

Construction Inspector

to support utility and infrastructure construction projects throughout the five boroughs of New York City. This is a highly field-based role, ideal for an early-career construction professional looking to gain valuable experience, grow with a reputable organization, and work directly alongside project and construction management teams.


This position is approximately

90-100% field-based

. Inspectors will spend the majority of their time at active construction sites, documenting work progress, tracking quantities, and communicating project updates to project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor and inspect construction activities related to utility and infrastructure repair projects.

+ Observe and document contractor work performed in public streets and rights-of-way.

+ Track labor, equipment, excavation volumes, and material quantities for payment verification purposes.

+ Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation.

+ Communicate construction progress, issues, and observations to project management teams.

+ Verify work is completed in accordance with project requirements and specifications.

+ Coordinate with contractors, construction managers, and project stakeholders in the field.

+ Support project records and reporting activities as needed.

Qualifications

+ 3-5 years of construction inspection, field engineering, or construction management experience.

+ Experience working on public infrastructure, utility, roadway, or underground utility projects.

+ Familiarity with:

+ Trenching

+ Shoring

+ Utility installation and repair

+ Excavation activities

+ Public street construction

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently in a field environment.

+ Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.

+ Must reside within the New York City metropolitan area.

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Previous construction experience within New York City's five boroughs.

+ Technical degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

+ OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.

+ HAZWOPER Certification.

+ Experience supporting utility or infrastructure projects.
