Job Title: Community Infrastructure Liaison / Junior Construction Inspector
Job Description
This role focuses on supporting a municipal water lead service program by performing a blend of construction inspection, fieldwork, and customer-facing activities.The Community Infrastructure Liaison works closely with the construction team to monitor residential and commercial water line replacement projects, document field conditions, and communicate effectively with property owners and internal stakeholders. The position offers clear training pathways to grow into roles related to civil engineering, design, and construction while contributing to critical community infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Support residential and commercial water line replacement projects as part of a municipal water lead service program.
  • Perform construction inspection activities related to city and civil construction work, with a focus on water line infrastructure.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to observe work, gather information, and verify that activities align with project expectations.
  • Engage with residents, property owners, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner to explain project activities and address basic questions.
  • Document field observations and project details accurately and clearly in written reports.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, track project information, and maintain organized records.
  • Collaborate closely with team members in both office and field settings to coordinate work and share project updates.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders using strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and self-motivation to manage daily tasks and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Travel between office and field locations using a personal or company-provided vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with holding a valid driver's license.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 1+ years of experience in construction, preferably involving water line or civil construction work, or a demonstrated strong interest in city and civil construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably in both field and office environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others in a team setting.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
