This is an excellent opportunity for experienced ODOT inspectors, civil engineering interns or new graduates starting their careers.\n \nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n Perform all phases of field assignment. Interpret specifications, working drawings and convey intent to the contractor.\n \n\n Interpretation and communication of working drawing intent to the contractor.\n \n\n Responsible for all aspects of field inspection, interpreting construction plans, and enforcing specifications.\n \n\n Generate and compile field reports via software on laptop and/or tablet\n \n\n Daily communication with contractor and office personnel.\n \n\n Effectively communicate and coordinate with local residents affected by construction.\n \n\n Work with project staff on design changes.\n \n\n Record daily installed construction quantities to review payment requests in terms of progress and amount completed to date.\n \n\n Maintain vehicles and equipment as required.\n \n\n Understand the public health and safety requirements and be fully trained in the proper safety procedures.\n \n\n Perform other duties as assigned.\n \n\n \nJOB QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant field, or\n Associates Degree (in applicable field), plus 2 years related experience, or\n High School Graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years related experience.\n Certifications such as compaction, asphalt, concrete, aggregate or others useful.\n Experience with construction of watermain installation, residential water service connections, other underground utilities, roadway restoration, concrete, asphalt pavement preferred.\n ODOT Construction Inspection Prequalification preferred.\n NICET Highway Construction Level II or Higher Certification preferred.\n Experience with ODOT or municipal inspection preferred.\n Ability to work outside in all weather conditions required.\n Must have a satisfactory driving record, criminal background investigation and drug test.\n Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.\n \nInvesting in Your Future: \n \nWe offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and career growth:\n\n Health, dental, and vision insurance\n Flexible spending accounts & health savings account\n 401(k) options (Traditional and Roth)\n Paid parental leave\n Life & AD&D insurance\n Short- and long-term disability\n* Wellness program with reimbursement benefits\n \nOur Commitment to Inclusion\n \nAt DLZ, diversity isn't just a policy\u2014it's a priority.
