Build the roads your community relies on while building a career you can count on. We're hiring construction inspection professionals for a 5-year program with PennDOT District 3, offering steady work and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standards

  • Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing results

  • Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanship

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentation

  • Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with PennDOT, NYSDOT, local, and federal requirements

  • Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concerns

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferred

  • Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred

  • Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT or NYSDOT experience preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skills

  • Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to safely access and navigate active construction sites

  • Capable of walking on uneven terrain

  • Work environments may include office and field settings, with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and weather conditions
