Inspects roadways, bridges and new development projects for compliance with County standards, provides guidance and makes recommendations. Provides representation for the County at the individual job sites. Conducts tests and analyses of construction materials. Prepares reports and conducts negotiations with the public and property owners.

Typical Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent with Vocational/Technical School Training in Construction or related field, supplemented by six (6) to nine (9) years of experience in construction and/or construction project inspection or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid State Driver's License. Must obtain certification of FDOT Asphalt Paving Level 1 and FDOT Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 1 within six (6) months of hire date and obtain certification of FDOT Asphalt Paving Level 2, FDOT Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 2, FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification and OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and Health certification within one (1) year of hire date.
