THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD

 

The Construction Inspector shall be responsible for inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect construction sites as a technical representative.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Inspect materials and workmanship.
  • Ensure safety requirements of construction projects in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to verify contractor performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of studies, plans, & analyses in support of internal & external customers.
  • Participate in research efforts in support of studies & analyses and may present & discuss approaches to meeting customer needs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to address issues and ensure timely project completion.
  • Evaluate, develop, program, prepare, maintain and recommend programs for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities and infrastructures project programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years construction inspection experience
  • Possess and maintain OSHA 30 OR
  • Possess and maintain ICC Inspector Certification or equivalent

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to evaluate contractor performance for compliance with contract documents
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards
  • Ability to interpret Construction drawings, submittals, RFIs
  • Communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to perform field inspections and documentation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Experience in construction inspection or related field.
  • Experience with large-scale (> $10M) construction projects
  • Experience with Secure Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) or military facility projects
  • Familiarity with DoD / Air Force regulations and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs).
  • Experience in Quality assurance (QA) / Quality control (QC)
  • Experience in Inspecting compliance with plans, specs, and safety requirements
  • Experience in Inspecting materials and workmanship
  • Experience in Federal, military, or public works construction projects
