Construction Inspector

Position OverviewSD Solutions is seeking a Construction Inspector to support construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects for the U.S. Air Force at Laughlin Air Force Base.The Construction Inspector will perform daily inspections of military construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with contract drawings, specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and project schedules.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform daily construction inspections.Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.Document construction progress using daily inspection reports.Monitor contractor quality control activities.Identify construction deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.Attend preconstruction meetings and project coordination meetings.Verify stored materials and completed work.Support progress payment recommendations.Review contractor schedules.Monitor project safety and environmental compliance.Investigate delays and potential construction claims.Prepare inspection reports and maintain project documentation.Coordinate with Program Managers, Contracting Officers, engineers, architects, and contractors.Support milestone inspections and project acceptance.Minimum QualificationsEITHER current ICC B2 Commercial Building Inspector Certification OR Minimum 8 years serving as a commercial construction superintendent on public, private, or federal construction projects.Strong understanding of commercial construction.Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.Excellent documentation skills.Ability to work outdoors and perform frequent site inspections.U.S. citizenship.Preferred QualificationsICC Commercial Electrical InspectorICC Commercial Mechanical InspectorICC Commercial Plumbing InspectorAutoCAD experienceE4Clicks Cost Estimating trainingMilitary construction experienceAir Force Civil Engineer experienceDesired SkillsConstruction InspectionQuality AssuranceConstruction SafetyBuilding CodesSchedulingDaily ReportsDeficiency TrackingContractor OversightConstruction AdministrationCost EstimatingGovernment ConstructionLocationLaughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, TX (On-Site)ClearanceAbility to obtain installation access
