# Job Specifications

Join our team as a Construction Inspector and play a key role in shaping our citys infrastructure! Youll oversee and inspect contractor work on underground utilities and public projects, making sure water, sewer, stormwater, and roadways are built safely and to the highest standards. Youll also keep detailed project records, track daily progress, and review pay requests, helping every project run smoothly from start to finish.

What Youll Do:

  • Inspect and oversee contractor work to ensure projects meet City standards.
  • Maintain accurate project files and daily records.
  • Review pay requests and development plans for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with contractors and City staff to keep projects on track.

# Minimum Training & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six (6) years of experience that includes construction or maintenance of public works projects such as water mains, gas mains and services, sanitary sewers, stormwater facilities, or construction of commercial building projects that include water and sanitary sewer components.

# Necessary Special Requirements

  • Valid Class E State of Florida drivers license (or equivalent) at the time of appointment.
  • Ability to obtain required safety or inspection certifications as deemed necessary by the department.
  • Individuals in this classification are considered essential during emergency and storm situations and must be able to work 16 hours per day for extended periods of time and may be required to be away from their family.

$21.6689 to $58.7999/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $35.0174/hour.
