LandSouth's internship program gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ground-up multifamily construction and learn what it takes to successfully manage a project. You’ll work with our team to build your knowledge of project management practices, construction processes, and industry-specific software, while gaining exposure to the different areas of construction that come together throughout a project. It’s a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and get a better understanding of what a career in multifamily could look like!
Below is a high-level overview of what you will learn over the course of the summer:
Preconstruction
- Explore how conceptual and hard bids are developed
- Practice performing a material take-off
- Join the plan review process
Safety
- Participate in a job site safety standdown
- Complete a mock safety inspection
- Earn your OSHA 10 certification
Office Operations
- Get certified in Procore project management software
- Understand the permitting process
- Attend a project hand-off meeting
Field Operations
- Accompany inspectors on site visits
- Contribute to schedule review meetings
- Assist with subcontractor coordination
What We're Looking For
- Students seeking a career path in the multifamily construction industry (large-scale luxury apartment, affordable housing, and/or senior living)
- Currently enrolled in a university or trade school program focused on Construction Management or a related field
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
