Job Title: Construction Laborer
Location: Columbus, NE (Projects in Albion, Elgin & Spalding areas)
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00/hour (DOE)
Shift: Full-Time (hours may vary; early mornings and travel as needed)

Position Overview

We are hiring motivated Construction Laborers to join a growing crew working on a variety of projects including feedlots, swine barns, housing, convenience stores and more. This is a hands-on role where you'll support all phases of construction from site prep to finishing work while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency on every job site.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Follow all PPE requirements and OSHA safety standards
  • Identify and communicate job site hazards
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • Safely operate tools, equipment and vehicles
Construction & Quality Work
  • Perform tasks such as carpentry, concrete work, plumbing, roofing, drywall, painting and dirt work
  • Read and follow blueprints and construction plans
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and building codes
  • Handle and store materials properly to prevent waste or damage
Operations & Efficiency
  • Assist with site setup, preparation and cleanup
  • Load, unload and organize materials
  • Support project timelines by completing tasks efficiently
  • Help track and manage tools, equipment and supplies
Teamwork & Communication
  • Work closely with crew members, leads and subcontractors
  • Follow direction from supervisors and contribute to team productivity
  • Communicate progress, challenges and needs clearly
  • Maintain a professional and positive job site attitude
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Construction, general labor, carpentry or concrete experience preferred
  • Experience using hand and power tools required
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and measurements
  • Skid steer or light equipment experience is a plus
  • Basic electrical knowledge is a plus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required (for company vehicle use)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk and perform physical labor for 8+ hours per day
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust)
