Job Title: Construction Laborer
Location: Columbus, NE (Projects in Albion, Elgin & Spalding areas)
Pay: $21.00 $26.00/hour (DOE)
Shift: Full-Time (hours may vary;early mornings and travel as needed)
Position Overview
We are hiring motivated Construction Laborers to join a growing crew working on a variety of projects including feedlots, swine barns, housing, convenience stores and more. This is a hands-on role where you ll support all phases of construction from site prep to finishing work while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency on every job site.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Follow all PPE requirements and OSHA safety standards
Identify and communicate job site hazards
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
Safely operate tools, equipment and vehicles
Construction & Quality Work
Perform tasks such as carpentry, concrete work, plumbing, roofing, drywall, painting and dirt work
Read and follow blueprints and construction plans
Ensure all work meets company standards and building codes
Handle and store materials properly to prevent waste or damage
Operations & Efficiency
Assist with site setup, preparation and cleanup
Load, unload and organize materials
Support project timelines by completing tasks efficiently
Help track and manage tools, equipment and supplies
Teamwork & Communication
Work closely with crew members, leads and subcontractors
Follow direction from supervisors and contribute to team productivity
Communicate progress, challenges and needs clearly
Maintain a professional and positive job site attitude
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Construction, general labor, carpentry or concrete experience preferred
Experience using hand and power tools required
Ability to read basic blueprints and measurements
Skid steer or light equipment experience is a plus
Basic electrical knowledge is a plus
Valid driver s license with a clean driving record required (for company vehicle use)
Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk and perform physical labor for 8+ hours per day
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust)
