Position: Construction Lab Technician
Compensation: $18-$23/hour Location: Denver, Colorado FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week schedule may vary
What Youll Be Doing:
• Receive log and prepare construction material samples, including soils, aggregates, and concrete. • Perform standardized laboratory tests, such as Moisture Content, Sieve, and Gradation Analysis, Atterberg Limits, Proctor Compaction, and Compressive Strength Concrete. • Record accurate data and report findings to the Laboratory Manager. • Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and workspaces according to safety, quality, and accreditation standards. • Assist with QA/QC documentation and basic report preparation. • Follow established procedures and support team success.
What You Have:
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks safely. • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Certifications & Requirements:
What Will Make You Stand Out:
• Prior hands-on experience in a construction materials testing laboratory. • Familiarity with ASTM AASHTO or CDOT test methods. • Coursework in civil engineering, construction management, geology, or related field. • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
• Laboratory-based role with occasional travel to local project sites. • Safety-driven environment governed by internal quality standards and state transportation project requirements.
