Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 Hourly

Job Summary:
As the Laborer you will ultimately be responsible for supporting underground utility construction crews, assisting with excavation and site preparation, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. You will coordinate with foremen and operators to support daily construction activities and deliver quality field operations. As the Laborer, your customers are internal field teams, project managers, and external clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through teamwork, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
• Attend and participate in morning and afternoon job-specific safety/huddle meetings as needed
• Operate various tamping machines according to specifications
• Inspect machines and equipment and assist with daily maintenance
• Assist with loading and unloading jobsite materials
• Maintain a neat and clean work area
• Assist with trench excavation, shoring placement, backfilling, conduit installation, and potholing utilities
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
Experience
• Basic construction industry knowledge preferred
• Previous underground utility construction experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and policies
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Excellent vision or the use of corrective lenses
• Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work extended hours in unfavorable weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience operating small equipment and hand tools
• CDL Driver’s License preferred
• Proven success working as part of a team
• Ability to identify and suggest process improvements
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Maintain visual and audible awareness of crew members and surrounding jobsite hazards
• Safely work around construction equipment and machinery
• Must wear required PPE including safety boots, glasses, hard hats, and applicable safety gear
