Job Overview:
The Construction Lead will oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities for commercial and/or residential projects in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This role is responsible for managing crews, subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications, codes, and client expectations. The ideal candidate has strong field leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects from mobilization through closeout.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day on-site construction operations, ensuring work is executed according to plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• Coordinate and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and vendors, assigning tasks and monitoring performance and productivity.
• Develop, maintain, and update short-interval and overall project schedules in collaboration with project management.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of workmanship, adherence to design, and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture on the job site.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and change orders; identify conflicts or issues and work with project teams to resolve them.
• Monitor material deliveries, equipment usage, and inventory to ensure timely availability of resources and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with project managers on cost control, progress reporting, and documentation of work completed.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, and photo documentation of project activities and milestones.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for inspectors, stakeholders, and other project participants as directed.
• Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, inspections, and turnover documentation.

• Proven experience in a Construction Lead, Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership role on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on active job sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related technical documents.
• Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and drive work to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead crews and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the field.
• Proficiency with basic construction management tools, mobile apps, and documentation practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction-related fields is preferred.
• OSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and to meet the physical demands of an active construction environment.

Pay Range: $35 - $40/hr

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
