Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate with 5 + years of experience in civil/commercial litigation and/or construction law to join a well-established and growing Construction Department at a respected law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an associate who is eager to take ownership of matters, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and grow within a sophisticated construction litigation practice.
Overview
As a Construction Litigation Associate, you will play a key role in providing legal guidance and support on complex construction-related disputes. Working closely with partners and senior attorneys, you will handle matters involving construction defects, contract disputes, and other construction-related litigation while contributing to strategic case development and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters from inception through resolution under partner supervision
Conduct legal research and analysis on construction, commercial, and civil litigation issues
Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and memoranda of law
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and motion arguments
Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials, arbitrations, and mediations as needed
Draft and review construction-related contracts, agreements, and legal documents
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams
Stay current on developments in construction law and related areas
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the Florida Bar (federal court admission preferred)
5+ years of civil/commercial litigation and/or construction litigation experience
Construction law experience, particularly in construction defect and construction-related disputes, strongly preferred
Excellent academic credentials
Courtroom and deposition experience required
Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
