Snow College is seeking an energetic and industry-experienced Construction Management Faculty member to join our growing Construction Technology Program. Our program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on learning in a 12,000-square-foot construction lab where students gain experience in carpentry, cabinetry, concrete, masonry, electrical systems, HVAC, project management, and more.

As a faculty member, you will help students connect industry knowledge with practical application while preparing them for successful careers in a rapidly evolving construction industry.

Position Summary

The Construction Management Faculty member will provide high-quality instruction in construction technology courses while supporting student success, industry engagement, curriculum development, recruitment efforts, and program growth. A significant portion of this position involves delivering instruction through a co-teaching model at the Central Utah Correctional Facility (CUCF), helping expand access to career and technical education opportunities. The faculty member will also teach courses on Snow Colleges Ephraim campus and work collaboratively with college and correctional education partners to support student achievement across both locations.

This position is ideal for an industry professional who enjoys sharing their expertise and helping students develop the technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills necessary for success in the construction field. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, building positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Construction Management program.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of construction experience, including project estimating, scheduling, facilities management, OSHA compliance, and construction methods
  • General Contractor License or willingness to obtain licensure within the first year of employment
  • Teaching or training experience in a construction related field
  • Experience with Canvas or another Learning Management System
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project scheduling software, CAD/Autodesk software, CNC equipment, and laser technology
  • Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and instructional tools
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform work in construction environments, including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions
  • Strong commitment to professionalism, student success, and industry engagement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of construction industry experience with both field and management responsibilities
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects
  • Experience using construction management software like Bluebeam, Procore, or similar.
  • OSHA 30 or higher.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience in higher education
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships with industry and community stakeholders

Major Responsibilities/Duties

Teach and mentoring

  • Deliver engaging instruction in courses such as:

  • Construction Estimating

  • Construction Scheduling

  • Building Materials and Methods

  • Building Science

  • Construction Safety

  • Project Management

  • Create learning experiences that connect classroom concepts with real world construction practices and building scenarios

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students of all backgrounds and experience levels

Support Student Success

  • Advise and mentor students throughout their educational journey
  • Coach and support student participation in competitions such as SkillsUSA and NAHB events
  • Assist students in developing professional skills and career readiness

Lead Program Development

  • Develop, revise, and assess curriculum to ensure alignment with industry standards and workforce needs
  • Maintain and update course materials, syllabi, and instructional resources
  • Utilize Canvas and other educational technologies to enhance student learning

Build Industry Partnerships

  • Strengthening relationships with contractors, builders, suppliers, and industry organizations
  • Assist with internships, work-based learning opportunities, and student placement efforts
  • Serve as an advocate for the program within the construction community

Recruit and Grow the Program

  • Participate in recruitment activities, including high school visits, career fairs, industry events, and community outreach
  • Promote construction careers and educational opportunities available through Snow College

Serve the College and Community

  • Participate in departmental planning, assessment, committee work, and institutional initiatives
  • Contribute to the continued growth and excellence of the Construction Technology Program
  • Support Snow Colleges mission of transforming lives through education
