    IMPORTANT NOTE: This role is based out of Amazon"s Bellevue, WA corporate office (SEA104). Applicants must be able to work on-site at our Bellevue, WA office during the spring semester and be available for travel during summer months. During summer months, travel to Amazon fulfillment centers under construction and corporate offices around the US is required.

    The Construction Manager (CM) Internship is an on-site part-time internship (20 hours a week) during the Spring 2027 academic season (February 2027 - May/June 2027) based in our Bellevue, WA corporate office.

    Upon school release for Summer 2027 (May/June 2027 - July/August 2027) this position shifts to a 12-week internship "full-time" (40 hours/week) with travel opportunities to project sites and Amazon facilities across the United States.

    This is a hybrid corporate and field position, combining strategic construction management work in our corporate office environment with hands-on exposure to large-scale industrial building projects at fulfillment centers, construction sites, and job trailer environments.

    Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction team is looking for innovative and solutions-oriented interns to support our construction management function. Construction Manager interns will support Construction programs to deliver the built facilities and infrastructure that power Amazon's logistics network - including fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations, and auxiliary buildings - through new builds, retrofits, initiatives, and expansions.

    In this role, interns work under the guidance and direction of senior Construction Managers, owning specific workstreams and deliverables within larger projects. You will coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project documentation is current, schedules are tracked, budgets are monitored, and stakeholder communications are maintained. You will serve as a key liaison between field teams and project leadership - ensuring information flows accurately and action items are resolved.

    This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to large-scale industrial construction projects while developing your construction management expertise through hands-on project execution, mentorship from senior CMs, and exposure to the full construction lifecycle.

    Key job responsibilities

    Safety & Compliance

    Support Amazon's safety programs and standards by monitoring compliance on assigned projects; report safety concerns and near-misses immediately

    Assist in coordinating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting, regulatory compliance, and inspections

    Participate in site safety walks and document findings; track corrective actions to closure

    Project & Construction Management

    Support concurrent construction projects by owning specific workstreams such as documentation management, punch list tracking, permit coordination, and close-out activities

    Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams on daily project activities

    Review and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and schedule updates; flag discrepancies to the supervising CM

    Assist with site inspections to verify construction quality, progress against schedule, and specification conformance

    Maintain accurate project files and documentation in Amazon's project management systems (BIM 360/ACC, Source, Pimento)

    Support project handover activities including punch list management, turnover documentation, and operational readiness coordination

    Track project milestones and deliverables; proactively identify potential delays and escalate

    Budget, Schedule & Contract Support

    Assist with budget tracking and cashflow reporting; maintain accurate cost documentation and flag variances

    Support bid package preparation by compiling scope documents, drawing packages, and specification requirements

    Track contractor billing and invoice submissions; verify against contracted amounts and milestone completion

    Monitor project schedules against baseline; update schedule tracking tools and report progress in weekly meetings

    Support contract administration by maintaining contract logs, tracking insurance certificates, and managing document submissions

    Assist in reviewing proposed change orders for completeness and accuracy

    Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

    Coordinate daily with general contractors and subcontractors on project status, upcoming activities, and logistics

    Serve as a liaison between field teams, project leadership, and internal Amazon stakeholders (operations, equipment, IT)

    Support managing contractor performance by tracking deliverables, documenting issues, and following up on action items

    Assist with vendor onboarding, site access coordination, and resource planning

    Coordinate with internal teams on facility readiness, equipment delivery schedules, and operational handover preparation

    Communication & Reporting

    Prepare weekly project status reports including schedule updates, budget summaries, risk items, and action logs

    Attend and support weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings; take and distribute meeting minutes; track action items to closure

    Update Amazon's project management systems with current budget, schedule, and status information

    Communicate clearly and promptly with all internal and external stakeholders on assigned tasks and deliverables

    Prepare presentation materials and project summaries as directed by the supervising CM

    Learning & Continuous Improvement

    Actively develop construction management expertise through on-the-job execution, mentorship, and Amazon training programs

    Identify and suggest process improvements within assigned workstreams

    Participate in project retrospectives and lessons learned sessions

    Seek exposure to all phases of the construction lifecycle to build breadth of knowledge and readiness for advancement

    Develop proficiency with Amazon's construction tools and systems (BIM 360/ACC, Source, Pimento, ACS)

    A day in the life

    During the spring semester, CM interns work part-time out of SEA104 supporting construction management activities such as coordinating with general contractors on project activities, reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, and change order requests, preparing project status updates, updating project management systems, and coordinating with internal stakeholders on equipment delivery, facility readiness, and handover preparation. You will work under regular guidance from senior Construction Managers, building your knowledge of construction and project management concepts while contributing to real project deliverables.

    During the summer full-time period, interns travel to project sites to support active construction projects, attend OAC meetings, conduct site walks to verify construction progress and document conditions, support punch list tracking and close-out documentation, and gain firsthand exposure to Amazon's industrial building projects. You will work across multiple stakeholder groups and build effective working relationships while developing toward independence under the mentorship of senior Construction Managers. Travel to various locations across the United States is expected during summer months (up to 80%).

    Physical ability to:

    1. Work 12-hour shifts on feet (when supporting field operations)

    2. Cover extensive distances in large warehouse facilities

    3. Use ladders, stairs, and gangways safely

    4. Lift/move totes up to 49 lbs

    5. Perform frequent bending, stretching, and reaching motions

    6. Travel to various locations across the United States during summer months (up to 80%)
