High-End Residential Construction Manager

Our client is a high-end residential construction firm specializing in the construction and renovation of luxury single-family homes. The company places a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, organization, safety, and long-term relationships, with the On Site Construction Manager serving as a critical leader and primary onsite point of contact. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering highly detailed, design-driven residential projects throughout the Metrowest area and Cape Cod. Job Description

The Residential Construction Manager will be responsible for:

• Serve as the primary onsite leader and direct point of contact for construction activities.
• Oversee the daily construction and progress of high-end residential projects from start through completion.
• Directly supervise Wellen Construction employees working onsite and lead by example.
• Coordinate and collaborate with subcontractors, trades, architects, designers, owners, and project management.
• Maintain complete control of jobsite safety, cleanliness, organization, and quality control.
• Review completed work for accuracy, quality, completeness, and adherence to plans/specifications.
• Coordinate multiple trades to maintain an efficient workflow and minimize jobsite conflicts.
• Manage material deliveries, onsite material organization, and overall jobsite logistics.
• Develop, manage, and update construction schedules to maintain project timelines.
• Participate in budgeting, job costing, scheduling, and overall project management before and throughout construction.
• Partner with the Project Manager to determine the most effective means and methods for completing project work.
• Communicate project updates, issues, progress, and required information to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project information and ensure important details are properly recorded, retained, and communicated.
• Open and close the jobsite each day and maintain a consistent onsite presence throughout construction activities.
• Identify potential issues before they become problems and take ownership of problem-solving and resolution.
• Remain available by phone and, when necessary, onsite during off-hours and weekends for project-related situations.
• Continuously develop knowledge of construction practices, technology, materials, and evolving industry standards.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Residential Construction Manager will ideally have:

• 5+ years of residential construction supervision experience, ideally within high-end custom homes or major residential renovations.
• Holds a valid Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License.
• Holds a valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
• Strong understanding of all phases of residential construction and the ability to oversee work performed by multiple trades.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a jobsite with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety.
• Highly organized and comfortable managing schedules, materials, documentation, and multiple project priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, email, and handheld communication devices.
• A self-starter who takes ownership and leads by example.
• Strong collaborator who can effectively bring owners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams together around common project goals.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with construction practices, technology, and industry trends.
