Job Title: Construction Manager 
Location: Redwood Valley, CA
Duration: 6+ month contract
Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate
Per Diem: $210/day
Start Date: June 1, 2026

NOTES: The ideal candidate would have hands on commissioning experience

Summary: Construction Manager will oversee construction and commissioning activities for standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. This role acts as the owner’s field representative, directly managing contractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance, tracking schedules and budgets, and supporting commissioning activities.

The team manages project execution from customer contract through handoff to operations, with a strong focus on field management of construction, installation of battery and balance of plant systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead field execution for installation and commissioning of battery enclosures, including balance of plant systems
  • Oversee contractor performance related to quality, safety program implementation, budget adherence, and schedule management
  • Participate actively in site safety programs, audits, and daily contractor coordination
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior commissioning leadership to maintain clear reporting and field updates

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Field-based experience managing contractors on construction and commissioning projects, ideally from a trade background
  • Hands-on commissioning experience, preferably working directly with battery enclosures and balance of plant systems
  • Strong ability to manage site logistics, prioritize field activities, and maintain safe work environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field teams, engineers, and leadership groups
