Construction Manager – Renewable Energy Microgrid Project

Location: Wasco, CA (On-Site)

Project Start: Late July / Early August 2026

Duration: Approximately 12–15 Months


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the on-site execution of a renewable energy microgrid project at an agricultural processing facility. This role will be responsible for managing all field construction activities from mobilization through commissioning, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The project combines multiple power generation technologies into a fully integrated microgrid designed to improve energy reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency.


Project Scope

  • 3 MW Solar PV System
  • 2 MW Ground Mount
  • 1 MW Shade Structure Canopies
  • Four 1.2 MW Natural Gas Generators
  • Tesla MP2XL Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
  • Microgrid Switchgear, Controls, and Integration
  • Civil site development, grading, and access roads
  • Structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical construction
  • Natural gas piping and associated infrastructure


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project turnover and commissioning.
  • Coordinate and direct subcontractors across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning disciplines.
  • Maintain project safety, quality, schedule, and productivity while ensuring compliance with all site requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve field issues to minimize schedule impacts.
  • Work closely with the project team to coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation.
  • Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with applicable codes, permitting requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Support commissioning activities and oversee project closeout, punch list completion, and turnover documentation.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction management experience on complex industrial, power generation, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading field construction teams through the complete project lifecycle.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
  • Utility-scale or commercial solar
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Natural gas generation
  • Microgrid or distributed energy projects
  • Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors while maintaining schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Wasco, California for the duration of the project.


Preferred Experience

  • Renewable energy EPC or power generation construction experience.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning and system turnover.
  • Familiarity with integrated energy systems involving solar, BESS, generators, and microgrid controls.
