Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to support a prime contractor supporting the Department of Defense. This position is onsite at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, DC. This is a direct-hire opportunity supporting facility renovation and modernization efforts for a federal installation.
The Senior Construction Manager will provide technical oversight, design review, and construction management support for a large-scale renovation project, working closely with government project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with DoD standards and execution requirements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Construction Manager include:
- Review architectural and engineering design submittals at multiple phases (concept through final) for compliance with DoD standards
- Evaluate adherence to Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), UFGS, and Air Force design requirements
- Conduct constructability reviews, identifying risks, conflicts, and cost/schedule impacts
- Coordinate technical feedback across government stakeholders, design teams, and contractors
- Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project schedules
- Support site inspections, progress meetings, commissioning, and project closeout activities
Qualifications for the Senior Construction Manager include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Architecture
- 5+ years of recent experience supporting DoD or Air Force construction projects
- Experience reviewing design documents and overseeing construction on military installations
- Strong knowledge of UFC, UFGS, and federal design/construction standards
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including A/E firms and contractors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design tools such as AutoCAD
- Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain base access
Compensation for the Senior Construction Manager includes:
- Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 based on experience
