Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

S&ME is looking for an eager and dedicated full-time Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Services team in our New Albany, Indiana, lab.
As a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician, your role is crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our projects while performing routine laboratory testing of construction materials under the observation of experienced technicians and professionals. You will be responsible for reporting test results accurately and comprehensively, often reviewing the test results of junior staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for equipment maintenance and cleanliness while assisting with calibrations. Proficiency with electronic reporting software and knowledge of testing requirements are essential.
Your Day-to-Day:
What You Bring:
High School diploma/GED, Related vocational training, a plus
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction materials laboratory
ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level II required
Additional active industry certifications, a plus:
American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician
International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
Effective math skills with a strong understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
