Construction Materials Project Manager

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Project Engineer Project Manager to join our Construction Services team in our Myrtle Beach, South Carolina office. If you're an experienced Project Manager specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) who's ready to take on more complex projects, expand your technical and leadership skills, and work with a fun, collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Construction Materials Project Engineer Project Manager, you will lead projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction throughout each phase. You'll play a key role in driving project success by overseeing technical execution, mentoring field and engineering staff, and fostering strong client and contractor relationships. Your work directly contributes to construction quality, structural integrity, and long-term project performance. Through a balance of project management, field oversight, technical expertise, and business development, you will help advance operational excellence and support the continued growth of the organization.
Your Day-to-Day:
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering discipline
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience
Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) experience, a plus
2 years in a project management role, a plus
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred, or the ability to obtain within the future
Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications, a plus
Strong working knowledge of applicable ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards, and IBC Special Inspections requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to develop, review, and deliver accurate technical reports and project documentation
