Construction Operations Manager

Davies Contracting & Inspections is a full-service general contractor serving Morehead City, Emerald Isle, and the surrounding Crystal Coast communities. The company handles remodeling, new construction, multi-family projects, pools, plumbing, HVAC, and related home services. This is a growing, established operation looking for a high-level systems-minded construction professional who can help bring structure, clarity, and accountability across the business.
We are looking for a Construction Operations Manager to help build, organize, and improve the systems that keep projects moving smoothly. This role is ideal for someone with strong construction operations experience, excellent follow-through, and the ability to turn ideas into clean, usable processes. You will help maximize Buildertrend, improve documentation, support financial tracking, and make sure the team is communicating clearly with clients and internally.
Key responsibilities
- Build out and optimize Buildertrend so the company is using it to its full potential
- Improve project workflows, schedules, daily logs, client updates, and internal communication
- Support financial management, reporting, job tracking, and backlog visibility
- Create and organize scopes of work, job documentation, SOPs, and role definitions
- Help identify gaps in current systems and turn them into clear, repeatable processes
- Work closely with ownership and team leaders to improve accountability across departments
- Support communication standards so clients are informed before they have to ask
- Assist with operational planning across construction, service, and administrative functions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction operations, project management, or related leadership experience
- Experience with Buildertrend strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of residential construction, remodeling, or trade-based operations
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through
- Comfortable working with schedules, financial reports, documentation, and systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to create structure in a fast-moving environment
- Valid driver's license required
- A background check is required for candidates with access to financial and operational systems, and it will be performed upon a conditional job offer.
Pay and benefits
- Full-time. W-2 leadership position
- Pay range: $90,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience
